| What is an Abrahamic House? The Abrahamic House is a partnership project coordinated by Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity that brings Christian, Jewish and Muslim believers together to plan, fundraise, and build a house for a qualified, low-income Charlotte County family in need. The name of the project derives from what the three faith traditions have in common—they all recognize Abraham as a founding patriarch.
|
An Abrahamic House is a true demonstration of Theology of the Hammer, a phrase coined by HFHI Founder Millard Fuller. We can set our differences aside and use a hammer as an instrument to manifest God’s love and to transform lives and neighborhoods.

-
Volunteer-Work on the construction site of this house as an individual or organize a "group build" - a team of at least 5 people building on a particular day.

-
Write about us-Draw attention to Habitat for Humanity's ministry and this project by writing or including on article, news brief, or flyer in a congregational newsletter or website
-
Pray-Pray for this project, Habitat for Humanity and it's homeowners, and for greater love to be demonstrated between Charlotte County residents and faith communities with different beliefs

|
Why would you want to Help?
-
Because you believe in the concept of mitzvah-doing good deeds in the community-tikkun olam-repairing the world to make it a better place-or the golden rule-doing unto others as you would have them do unto you.
-
Because the things that unite us can be so much more powerful than that which divides us.
-
Because Habitat is a people-to-people partnership—men and women of various diverse racial and ethnic groups, income levels, denominations and faiths, occupations and age groups.
-
Because this is an excellent opportunity to have a meaningful hands-on, practical mission in your own back yard.
