We have all heard, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” Here at Charlotte County Habitat that phrase is so true. We pride ourselves in taking someone’s “unwanted” and recycling it into someone else’s “must have”.
Our three resale stores have been accepting donated household goods, appliances, furniture and even vehicles for years. These donations turn into dollars for Habitat. Our resale stores generate necessary revenue for our affiliate to continue to provide affordable housing to those who are in need in our community.
Charlotte County Habitat is excited to introduce a new program, “Recycle…Build Homes”. We are now accepting donations of recyclable items such as: paper, newspapers, cardboard, aluminum cans, ink cartridges and cell phones. Just set aside any of those items and when you come to shop at anyone of our stores, bring your recyclables with you. By collecting these items and recycling them, Habitat will yield additional income to continue with our mission of eliminating substandard housing in Charlotte County.
In today’s economic situation many people want to contribute to Charlotte County Habitat financially but are not able. Partnering with us through “Recycle…Build Homes” is the perfect way for you to give to Habitat and help change lives in our community.
Take a look around your house and see what you are not using: furniture, appliances, knick knacks etc. and donate them to Charlotte County Habitat. Make a commitment to save your recyclables and bring them to any one of our three resale stores. By doing so, you are making a difference in our community; you are changing lives and offering hope to those who are in need. Remember, “One man’s trash is indeed another man’s treasure.”
